This decade long project opened the doors for a unique collaboration between conservation organizations and the U.S. military. As wildlife trafficking becomes increasingly operated through criminal networks, a program alerting military personnel to the potential consequences of purchasing items made from threatened or endangered animals shifted to include a component of how U.S. military personnel can help identify and dismantle criminal networks supporting illegal activities.
